My thanks to all who turned out to help with Walk To School Day on Wednesday, and especially to Holly for pulling it all together for us once again.
I'm please to report Marshall had the most walkers (336) and the highest percentage of students walking (63) on Wednesday. So, we get to keep The Shoe. For the third year in a row.
That's kinda cool.
Congratulations
Deb Onsae has received the Arizona Indian Living Treasures Award. This award is given to individuals who "demonstrate a lifetime of achievement in the area of traditional arts, education, cultural preservation and language preservation."
Mrs Onsae will be presented with her award on Sunday, 01 Nov. at the Heard Museum in Phoenix.
She becomes one of only 100 or so others who have received this special recognition since 1988.
Early Release Lunch Schedules
Monday and Tuesday lunches will run on the Friday lunch schedule. On Wednesday 14 Oct, we will release students at 11:10 and our lunch schedule will be as follows:
- 9:35-9:55 -- K-1 eat lunch
- 9:55-10:15 -- K-1 on playground
- 10:00-10:20 -- 2-3 eat lunch
- 10:20-10:40 -- 2-3 on playground
- 10:25-10:45 -- 4-5 eat lunch
- 10:45-11:05 -- 4-5 on playground
Fieldtrips
We received word at Admin Council this week that teachers would be well-advised to submit all transportation requests for fieldtrips this school year ASAP. Be advised.
