The following document, which you will "sign" via the link at the bottom of the page, is not a contract. It is merely a written statement of my expectations, as building administrator, for you, an employee of Marshall Magnet Elementary School. These expectations will remain in place throughout the duration of the school year or will be rescinded by the building administrator in writing.
CT meetings: requirements & expectations
· You are required to attend all scheduled Collaborative Team meetings during your work day unless you have taken leave time via the AESOP call-off system.
· You are required to review your team's agenda prior to your meeting time and to come prepared for your CT meeting.
· You are required to comply with the pre-established agenda, to participate as an involved member of your group, and to foster, through your speech, demeanor, and attitude an atmosphere of collegiality during your meetings.
Other duties as assigned: requirements & expectations
· You are contractually required to perform certain other duties during your work day, in addition to your teaching responsibilities.
· Each teacher will be assigned at least one, weekly morning or afternoon duty. These duties are necessary in order to provide a safe, secure environment for our students both before and after school.
· Other duties will be assigned at the discretion of the school administrator or chosen by lottery. The school administrator may revise the duty schedule during the school year as needs arise.
· You must be on time for your assigned duty. If you have taken leave time during your duty-day, you should make arrangements to trade duties with another staff member. Making arrangements for your substitute to cover you duty is insufficient as subs often do not arrive on campus in time to perform morning-duties.
· You must avoid using your cellphone during your duty time except for work-related or emergency concerns.
· You must move-and-scan during your duty.
· Morning duty will occur from 8:20-8:40.
· Afternoon duty will occur from 3:20-3:40.
· You are required, per FUSD board policy G-2400 GCBC, to attend other routine obligations such as faculty meetings, building department meetings, P.T.O. functions, open houses, school programs, and new teacher orientations.
· You may also be required, per FUSD board policy G-2400 GCBC, to attend building or district in-service classes or department meetings for up to twelve (12) hours per year.
Grade-books: requirements & expectations
· You are required to use the online grade-book to keep track of your students' performance and progress toward mastery of the state standards (unless you teach kindergarten and/or SEI classes).

· Recording and reporting of student grades is a legal, statutory requirement of your position. You are required to turn in your grade book to the school administrator at the end of the school year; it will not be returned to you.
Lesson plans: requirements & expectations
· You are required to keep written lesson plans for each week of your teaching calendar.
· Your plans should be written in such a way that they are of use to you, and likewise would be of use to a substitute, should you fall ill or be called away unexpectedly.
· Your plans for the week should be completed no later than 8:30 Monday morning.
· Your plans must be visible on your desk at all times during the work week, before, during, and after school.
· Your written plans should agree with what you are teaching. Ideally, your plans should include the SWBAT/learning objective for each lesson as well as the required text, page number, activities, and necessary supplies.
· You are required to turn in your written daily lesson plans to the school administrator at the end of the school year; your plans will be returned to you after they have been reviewed.
Work day: requirements & expectations
· You are required to abide by the established FUSD staff dress code. The following items, per FUSD policy GBEB-RB, are not acceptable:
- Dirty and unwashed clothing - poor personal hygiene.
- Clothing with obvious frays, holes, or tears.
- Revealing and see-through clothing.
- Beachwear including rubber and/or plastic flip-flops and swimsuits.
- Pajamas and sweats.
- Clothing with non-FUSD related advertisements or imprints displaying illegal activities.
- Non-FUSD logo T-shirts (plain solid colors are ok).
- Spaghetti strap tank tops (straps typically less than 2" in width).
- Hats worn inside the building (acceptable outside the building).
· FUSD, by contract, requires faculty members to be at work no less than 7.5 hours per day. Faculty members are expected to be at work from 8:15 until 3:45 or 8:20 until 3:50.
· If you are required to attend district-mandated meetings off-site prior to this time, please notify the school administrator. Email will suffice.
· If, due to unforeseen personal circumstances, you will be arriving at school after 8:20 on a given morning, please notify the school office staff by telephone [928 773 4030].
· If you have an off-site, non-work-related appointment which will require you to leave before 3:45, please notify the school administrator at your earliest opportunity during your workday, prior to leaving campus. Email will suffice. For non-work-related appointments, please also sign out via the online workday sign-out form.
· You must not use your computer to check personal email or browse the web for entertainment purposes during teaching time.
· You should not use your cellphone for personal calls/texts during teaching time or while on recess duty.
· You must check your fusd1.org email at least once per day and respond to emails from staff and administration that require response within 24 hours.
· You must check your workroom mailbox at least once per day.
· You must remain civil and maintain peaceful relationships with your coworkers at all times. Unresolved disputes and/or aggressive or antagonistic behaviors between staff members will be resolved by the school administrator whenever possible.
Supervision of students: requirements & expectations
· You must complete a screening form for all students new to the district within 45 days of their enrollment date (including weekends).
· You are required to record student attendance using the online system. Attendance must be recorded no later than 9:20 each morning.
· You are required to have a written classroom management plan. You must submit this plan to the school administrator no later than the first week of school. Your plan may be submitted online.
· You must know the whereabouts of all of your students at all times during the school day except during your 30-minute duty-free lunch period.
· You must never leave a student unattended at any time.
· You must notify the office immediately if you are unable to locate one of your students.
