The Mustang and Glee choirs have been hard at work preparing for this year's first performances. You'll have a couple chances to catch their act next week, along with a few special performances by regional native dancers, too. The choirs and dancers will perform on Tuesday evening at 6:30 in the gym, and again on Wednesday morning for the student body. Both performances will take place in our gym. The third through fifth grade show will happen at 9:00 and the K-2 program will take place at 10:00. This schedule is tight, due to lunchtimes immediately afterward, so please be on time so we can start and end on time.

Lockdown Drill
We will conduct a brief but important lockdown drill next week at 10:00 AM, on Tuesday, 15 November. It is important to quickly review this procedure with your students prior to the drill. During the drill students should remain in their seats and must be absolutely quiet. When the announcement, "Marshall School, this is a lockdown," is given you should lock your classroom door. Windows should be shuttered. DO NOT use the orange card to indicate your presence. A member of the office staff will call your classroom to ensure you have all your students in-place. No one is permitted to enter or leave your room for any reason until the "All clear," is given.
Technology Acquisition Conversation
You're all invited to join with members of the Marshall PTO, Science Council, and the Technology subcommittee next Wed. in the Library from 3:30-4:00 pm to discuss the spending of funds from the very successful jog-a-thon. If you can make it, please come! If you cannot make it yet wish to have a voice on how we spend this money, please contact Janelle and she will make sure your thoughts and opinions are heard at the meeting.

Parent-Teacher Conferences and Tax Credit
By this time next week we should have an ample supply of full-color Marshall Magnet School program brochures, complete with Tax Credit inserts, ready for you to distribute during your Parent Teacher Conferences. These face-to-face meetings should be a great opportunity for each of you to make an impassioned appeal to your parents about the great benefit their child, and every child at Marshall, receives from all of all of our Tax Credit contributions.
