Please remember, we will release students early for conferences on the following dates and times:
- Wednesday, 12 March: 11:10
- Thursday, 13 March: 12:25
- Friday, 14 March: 12:25
Due to our odd dismissal schedule on Wednesday, March 12, lunch will, likewise occur on a different schedule. It will be imperative that everyone abide by the schedule below as closely as possible, as we will be operating on very tight tolerances in order to accommodate everyone's lunch and recess that day.

- 9:55-10:15 -- K-1 on playground
- 10:00-10:20 -- 2-3 eat lunch

- 10:45-11:05 -- 4-5 on playground
A flyer regarding our early dismissal times for Conference week was delivered today and a ConnectEd robo-call on this subject is scheduled to drop on Sunday evening.
STEM Night
Please plan to attend the upcoming Flagstaff Community STEM Celebration and help represent Marshall Magnet School. It's at the Skydome on Wednesday, 02 April, from 5:30-7:30. The more the merrier!
Core Values
At our PD last week your working groups came up with a number of great plans for integrating passion, innovation, honesty, persistence, and collaboration into our planning for next year. Where we go from here with these ideas is really up to you, collectively. I'd love for these ideas to grow organically, as self-selected groups of y'all choose to implement them in your classrooms and throughout our community. Among your great ideas:
- Science Fair Scaffolding to align our expectations across all grade levels K-5
- Outdoor Classroom to create a place that will allow our students to better use the dymanic opportunities for learning that already exist at Marshall... the Short Pond, weather station, and Heritage Garden
- Grandparent Night to tap into the vibrant senior community in Flagstaff
- STEAM topic of the month, discovery education through exhibits
- Conflict Resolution to create movies and skits to model PBS behaviors
- Vertical CTs to collaboratively instill with our professional community an environment that beneficially focuses on raising academic and social outcomes for students
Fieldtrips
A quick word to the wise: In the future, it will become increasingly advantageous for you to be able to provide a standards-aligned, academic justification for each and every field-trip you plan to take.
Lunch Duty
Just want to say a quick "Thanks!" to those classroom teachers who continue to hang out in the cafeteria for 10 minutes while students go through the lunch line and get seated at the tables. Our whole system works great when this short duty happens faithfully. I'm grateful to you for the time you take to ensure each lunch period starts on the right foot.
