Snow on the way this weekend. Must be springtime. Plenty of water for precip (nearly 0.9") headed this way, and a 6400' snow-level, too. But I don't foresee that a great deal of shoveling will be required... once the sun comes back out, this stuff is sure to be short-lived.
Faculty Meeting
We will all (staff and faculty alike) meet with FUSD Board Member Kulpinski on Tuesday morning, 17 April, at 8:00 in the Library. We should be a standing-room-only crowd for this meeting, so arrive early if you want a chair. Mr. Kulpinski will be speaking with us about the November Bond Initiative.
Pre-game (pre-AIMS) meeting
I would like to meet with the 3-5th grade students and teachers in the Gym, briefly, at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, 17 April. I'd like to talk with everyone about the upcoming AIMS tests, and tell a story or two that will attempt to be a little inspiring... we'll see. Shouldn't take too long. Please be on time.
RIF Rubric
Thanks to many of you for signing up so quickly to review your RIF Rubric data with me. If you haven't done so already, there are still a lot of times available over the course of the next couple weeks. Every certified staff member needs to do this before 27 April in order to ensure your rubric is up-to-date with Human Resources.
Common Assessments
We will administer our grade-level common summative assessments beginning the week of 29 May. They must all be done by 07 June. You and your grade-level CTs should make a common decision about when you will administer your tests. Only two sets of tests are available per school, so you will also need to coordinate how they are shared. The test booklets are not consumable (with a few exceptions) and will be scored via Scantron sheets. Dr. Hagstrom expects an initial 24-hour turnaround time in scoring once your tests are done and submitted to his office for scoring, but that this time will increase as the end of the year nears. So he says, "The sooner you can get these tests done, the better." Probably good advice.

Tech Peer Coaches
We still need at least one person from each grade-level, First, Second and Third, to volunteer to be trained as the iRead Program iPad Tech Coach next year. Each of these grades will have an iPad cart of their own to utilize next year, but it will be difficult to know how to put it to use if three of you don't step forward to be the Tech Coach at your grade level. As mentioned before, I have additional information in my office about this and would be happy to share it with you. Current Tech Peer Coaches are encouraged to apply. Our list of coaches is due Mary Knight's office no later than 27 April.
