Thanks to your faithful distribution of blue tickets each day as you recognize
safe, responsible, and respectful behaviors in our common spaces (hallways, cafeteria, restrooms, and playground), we've seen a remarkable decline in behavior referrals over the course of the last year or so. With the exception of the playground, where we still have an incident/conflict occur once or twice a month, behavioral referrals in the halls, cafeteria, and restrooms have fallen noticeably since implementing our PBS Tier 1 blue ticket program midyear last year.

Dawn Edwards has drawn up an interesting graph of our rate of ticket distribution for the 12 week period from November through early February. During that time period, our collection boxes contained about 2100 blue tickets, which is an average distribution of about 175 tickets per week. We have about 75 faculty and staff members at Marshall, which means that each of us is giving out about about 2.3 tickets
per week.
Please remember: it's our goal to recognize positive behaviors with a blue ticket at a rate of about
two to three tickets per staff member per day. I am confident that our program will continue to be effective if we faithfully distribute tickets at this rate to students who are caught doing the right thing in our common spaces during the school day. To maintain student buy-in, we will always recognize a random selection of students receiving blue tickets each week on Fridays prior to dismissal.
Thanks for your continued support of this essential program!
